WELSH ASSEMBLY 'MORE POWERS' REFERENDUM YES CAMPAIGN LAUNCHED 05 - 01 - 2011.

  1. Yawn! Pretty Boring Launch, kind of like watching paint dry. If the 'Yes' Campaign thinks keeping politicians out of the front line will fool anyone, they are wrong and personally I would not think it a good tactic but perhaps a sign of moral cowardice? After all those self serving politicians who stand as A.M's to WAG should have the guts to face the people and justify why WAG should have more powers and what they going to do with them? Why? it was decided to launch the campaign in Barry I can only guess as either being a nod to Gwynfor Evans or maybe Gavin and Stacy? As for the evening launch at the University of Glamorgan, this appeared to be particularly dreary and even more down beat. Personally I do not think the Choir helped, why not a Rock Band to attract a younger voting element and not the same emphasis on 'old' stuffy looking usual 'Taffia/Crachach' suspects? The biggest problem both campaigns will face is apathy and the bigger attraction of that Royal Wedding getting in the way of the campaigning as well possible bad weather which will keep the 'Foot Soldiers' in doors and not on the door step. The other big problem is of course convincing the people of Wales, that is post Industrial Wales that they and their children have a sound Social - Economic future in a land very much in decline where it rains a lot.
The Economy of Wales. In 2007, according to ONS provisional data, headline gross value added (GVA) in Wales was £44333m, making the Welsh economy the tenth ...

Sure, it's the economy lets not bury our head in the sand and lets have some 'home truths' and not avoid some basic issues. For a while just forget political and cultural correctness and perhaps stop whinging about the past, does remembering 1282 or 1831 have any use to the present and future. Maybe we do desperatly need more spirited 'Entrepreneurs' rather than Patriots and Politicians, Cultural and Social Activists?

  1. On top of all this the majority of Welsh People just have so little interest in Welsh News and current affairs, this and London media's more than likly disinterest and lack of coverage do not look toward making the campaign popular amongst the masses which will of course be to advantage of my 'Abstain to Abolish' position. That's all it is, a personal position as I am not part of a campaign or launching such end other than these early statements here and, in my Welsh Patriot blog (see below). It is a fact that if the 'Yes' campaign fails misarably to make the earth move on this issue, then Plaid Cymru whose great ideal it all is will be too blame for a number of reasons; failing for over 40 years to be a real nationalist party, leading a real Nationalist Movement and Struggle. On top of this they have failed by making no effort to make 'English Speaking' Welsh more 'Natiionalist' or at least 'Nationally Minded'. Instead for over 40 years as a right wing rural Cultural/Business party they have been more interested in advancing the cause of a declining rural petite bourgeosie to make of them 'Y Crachach Newydd' - England's Client Tribe in Wales. They are still at it with 'ShamelessS4C' with no care at all about English Speaking Wales getting a fair crack of the whip as far as programming for they is concerned. Certainly those involved in the 'Yes' campaign need to be more transparent on issues concerning S4C and the Welsh Language Industry, in these desperate times WAG needs to hold a moritorium on the future of the native language, it's percieved culture and the present Welsh Language Industry . Otherwise, such will become a major 'Bone of Contention' in years to come unless the whole nation as a say in matters of concern here as related to economic issues.
3 Dec 2010 ... IS it time for the Wales Assembly Government to come out from behind its “S4C is not a devolved matter” shield?

New Welsh Language Powers = More Money for some as translators and teachers, civil servants and of course the Cultural, Media and other 'Crachach'. But lets get real what about the Cymraeg speaking Post Industrial youth of the Council Estates in the many towns of 'rural' pura Wallia? Plus those in Southern 'Ysgolion Cymraeg' who do not have 'Crachach' perants, is there a 'level playing field' here? CyIG aka Plant Crachach dig in their heels and ignore certain testified to truths as even 'Cymraeg Speaking' youth do not watch S4C or use 'Cymraeg' as much as they possibly should. Yet, Plant Crachach continue to expect the rest of us to fund a failed business empire other wise known as S4C and it's 30 odd years Gravy Train.

  1. Another reason I am motivated against WAG is the potential that Cymru/Wales will be doomed to have coaltion governments in perpetuation, no thank you not with all the cronyism and back room deals such involves. As it is look at the situation now at the Assembly where we have Plaid's Dafydd Ellis Thomas, Ieuan Wyn and Alun Ffred Jones representing a minority party with none to big a share of votes in a so called 'One Wales' Coalition which without doubt is built on comprimise. The irony is that both WAG labour and Plaid criticise the Central Government Coalition but what's stopping Plaid going in to Coalition with Tory or/and Liberal A.M's? Wales in these times needs a Socialist Assembly but that's not guarenteed and, anyway I am of the oppinion that democracy will be best served by decentalisation. That is devolving power downward to the community and not placed in the hands of distant self serving politicians be they in Westminster or Bae Caerdydd, such would no more be in interest of Pobl Gwynedd or any other part of Cymru/Wales. Not least my ideal of a Successionist Sepratist Siluria', an 'Hwntw' Southern Home Rule Movement, seeking it's own Gwledydd/Regional Assembly. See below link:
