The Rest of Wales Wake Up, not least Cymru Cymraeg of our rural West of Gwynedd and Dehuebarth aka some times referred to as 'Y Fro Cymraeg' but not so much these days. This Western Region has an huge number of problems, not just Windmill Plantations but rising rural unemployment and along with it depopulation. These are the twin evils that should be concentrating progressive rural political activist minds and, focusing rural radical patriotic efforts and endeavours in campaigning against, not the 'usual suspect' knee jerk response to rural housing developments as at Bodwyddelan and Carmarthen's outskirts. Many Cultural Nationalists as per usual are via their expected 'Tunnel Vision' are seeing this as in main a Culturally Language Issue and attaching blame on much other than themselves perhaps.
I say themselves because it is the long bury the head attitude to the problem of unemployment and depopulation other than where it benefited rural 'Crachach Newydd' to campaign for an S4C based in Caerdydd which contributed to depopulation of young talented people away from Pura Wallia aka 'Hen Tiroedd Cunedda'. This 'Crachach Newydd' still seeks to save and sustain a failed S4C at great cost to less BBC Wales 'English Language' Television Production, rather than obvious best alternative of making 'Cymraeg' TV a rural community based TV back in 'Y Fro Cymraeg'. Here, it is interesting to note the Western Mail news print milage on the matter of S4C and keeping it as it is and, in Cardiff quite simply because the 'Welsh Language Industry' is huge because it benefits the Western Mail not least in terms of bilingual advertizing fees. They, the Western Mail are thus silent on matter of a proper BBC Wales 'Emglish Language' TV service of Wales and the scandalous creation of an 'English Media Colony' in Cardiff Bay with the BBC Wales Drama Village nor come clean on the disaster of the so called 'Valleywood'. Nor of course say any truths about rural unemployment and depopulation as what should be a major national as well as regional issue.
Last year CyIG initiated a campaign to save and sustain a 'ShamlessS4C' at great expense in finnancial terms with no real concerns as to future of BBC WALES - Welsh English Language Television service and productions. To win over the rest of Wales at their Caernarfon Rally they sought to win support from the 'Wales/Welsh left' and Trade Unions by combining issue of S&S a failed S4C with the campaign against ConDem cuts in Cymru/Wales. By way being implemented by the Cardiff WAG 'Puppet Government' as much as they have advanced TAN 8 Windmill Farms and Rural Housing Developments and do not forget this was achieved with Plaid Cymru 'One Wales' Colonial Collaborationist Coalitionists - DO NOT FORGET THIS! The main point here however, is what happened to the Plant Crachach Solidarity with the Trade Unions against the Cuts, talk was that they were going to campaign with the Trade Unions in communities as a joint effort. We do not actually see much of that do we, as Plant Crachach go on their merry way looking after their employment future in a 'Cushty Cymru Cymraeg' media which of course will be still based in Cardiff, not Carmarthen, Caernarfon or even in Ceredigion.
Plant Crachach as the vanguard of 'Y Crachach Newydd' basically cannot be trusted they are largelly rural petite bourgeoisie rooted and, have to fore their class considerations. Many amongst they are so basically anti - National in thinking as well as action they believe that 'Cymraeg' speaking farmers need to diversify into Windmills as well as tourism to sustain their livlihood and existence in that disappearing 'Fro Cymraeg'. Going on to make out that the protests against the 'Windmilling of Wales' is an issue largelly campaigned for by 'English Incomers', this is a little true in 'Cymru Cymraeg' areas for reason I have aforementioned. Plus because generally speaking Cultural Nationalism when not playing the 'Cultural Card' are most likely to be seen playing at being Pacifists worrying about nucleur Power and marching about with our Plaid Spuedo Socialists and Anglo - Taffy Left against this or that war. Not least campaigning on behalf of Palestine when Ironically their own 'Fro Cymraeg' is becoming more and more a 'Cymric Palestine', think now - lets see if you can work it out? I will clue you up, return of a 'Mewnlifiad' and rural housing developments, get it but please this time around lets make it not a cultural issue but rather a Socio - Economic Issue about Unemployment and Depopulation.
What I am getting at, is that it is time, really is for Cultural Nationalism of the rural kind to wake up to reality before it really is too late. All this stuff your into as a rather pathetic patriotism and pacifism and 'left' political posturing needs to give way to support for rural 'Land and Liberty' struggle beginning with complete active support for all campaigns against the 'Windmilling of Wales'. Not least throwing in the same kind of support for the Powys Campaign as Cultural Rural Nationalism expected from the rest of our country on the issue of the drowning of Capel Celyn or other wise crying 'Cofia Dreweryn' gets all rather 'Crocadile Tears'. What is going to be done in Powys with the National Grid combined with Tan 8 Plan is a monstrous act of Colonial Aggression Against Cymru/Wales in terms of oppressing people and communities also in Exploitation of our land and Expropriation of our Natural resources be it one time Coal or Copper, and now Water or Wind. So saving S4C or rural Schoools and Pubs which sooner or later might have no native population to fill them, unless you now get to grips with total reality of a desparate 11th Hour Situation of possibly soon seeing Cymru/Wales Die and on your watch too!
All in all to conclude what I am getting at, is that now for all Nationalists, Cultural or Political there is no one single issue that is more important than another but all must be decided upon on the basis of priorities and benefits to the whole nation and majority of people. At moment first and foremost are ConDem cuts but here we have Trade Unions who should be supported in campaigns here in Cymru/Wales not catching buses to Birmingham and London for 'THE DEMO'. However, then the struggle that must be of priority is a 'Land and Liberty' Anti - Colonial Struggle based on any number of campaigns, in chief the one against the 'Windmilling of Wales' but also on issues as the selling off of the Vyrnwy and Brecon Estates also against Rural Housing Development Colonies'. So on, get it! United We Stand - Devided We Fall! One Struggle on a number of Campaigning Fronts with Extra - Parliamentary Protests to the fore - Forget the Politics - Just put pressure on the Politicians as Pobl Powys did on Tuesday 24 May 2011.
