I am told there was an item on Welsh News last week in which a Powys Farmers rep expressed fears of the County Local Authourity possibly preparing to sell of farm land under their Estate Managment. Given the economic state of Wales and cuts Councils have to make in their annual budgets the pressure will be on local Authorities to go down this path. So Patriots wake up and wise up, worry less about 'ShamelessS4C', Rural Pubs and Schools as the way things are going we want own our own land or have any worthwhile acre to call our own. Rural Cymru and it's farming families already caught between a rock and hard place of agricultural imports under cutting and Super Market Monopolies undermining their Livlihoods are in a desperate situation. The majority of framers are over 50 and less and less their children want to work the land if a decent living cannot be made, this does not bode well for any Welsh rural future at all. Do remember apart from much else it's the farming community that manages and makes look good much of our country side and, whose children attend rural schools.
This is truelly crisis time as Local Authorities might also consider closing parks and selling of allotments to raise money for local services, it is now not just a matter of a Land and Liberty Campaign but we need to see being set up as many rural 'Community Land Defence Committees' as possibly. Such local CLDC's could be similar in concept and organisation as the North East Wales Peoples Council but consider more Protest Action than passive Petitios as the campaigning way forward. Next week Nationalists will be remembering the opening of the Tryweryn Reservior on 21 October 1965 but what point is there in remembering the past if we forget the present and let generatrions to come to worry about the future, that would be patriotically pathetic but given Patriotic Passivity on the Vyrnwy Issue can one really dare to think that Patriots will actually rise to the occaision to HOLD THE LAND? yes! 'DAL DY DIR!'.
