In a way the 1905 Welsh Religious Revival also came out of despair, the despair felt by some that an old way of life was being threatened by extinction caused by the rise of secularism and the hedonism of Booze, Sport and Sex. I would suggest to these young Plant Crachach that if you do not want your rural way of life to die, then far better you took yourself up to the Vyrnwy Estate and build a Ty Unnos - Cymric 'Cultural' Camp than worry about the well heeled Pontganna Patagonia media settlers aka 'Economic Refugees' from Y Fro Cymraeg. West Wales is now becoming a Greater England Beyond Wales and East Gwent, the nice green parts along the border very much domitory land for Bristolians. At least Swansea's got it right and become a Sanctury for Assylum Seekers, despite the Union Jack 'Love England' Poem in their Sanctury Assylum Refugee seeking/welcome pamphlet (bit of a mistake to include that poem really, was it done to cause trouble?). 'Sanctury Swansea' that's alright with me, after all London, Liverpool and Birmingham have long been sancturies for Welsh 'Economic Refugees', personally I think Central Cymru is big enough to accept Roma Refugees from France as the South once accepted Basque Refugees. Whatever, you got to get out of the 'Rural Rut' most of you Rural Activists are in with saving schools and pubs, what's the strategy here? Kids get a Village education to grow up and leave for all destinations South to a continuing 'ShamelessS4C' or east across Offa's Dyke to the English Cities and beyond. Maybe most will just stay behind to sign on the dole and spend their giros in the 'saved village pubs', me thinks not as they will more likly still buy the cheap booze in the Super Markets and drink at home or on the village streets. Meanwhile, if Peter Ogden CPRW gets his way your 'Saved Pubs' will become winter pubs for the Cefn Gwald Crachach and in the Summer Time Tourist hostileries.
