Dear Editor, Your correspondent, Gareth Jones of Powys [ letters 10/3] legitimately complains that Welsh Assembly Government , [WAG],Environment Minister, Jane Davidson and First Minister , Carwyn Jones , have never declared their vested interest as Vice Presidents of the Ramblers Association in Wales , whilst legislating WAG's own Coastal Access Bill for the benefit of Ramblers and to the detriment of farmers and other coastal businesses. Yet these are the very same politicians telling the Welsh electorate that they are fit to be given full law-making powers ! Even though three Welsh MPs ,Huw Irranca Davies [Ogmore] , Roger Williams [ Brecon and Radnor] and Nick Ainger [ West Carms and S Pembs] were the architects of the Coastal Access Bill for England , Welsh Ministers ,aka Rambler Cymru leaders , will not rubber-stamp it for Wales because they have their own Rambler agenda.The English Bill does not allow public access into "coastal parks and gardens" .Yet WAG refuse to adopt this. Why?? Regarding the Ceredigion Coast Path, I can confirm that the Ramblers Association provided 2.9 per cent of the capital and that this attracted European Union match-funding through WAG. Yet the Ramblers were allowed to provide oral evidence in favour of the public path, at a Public Inquiry involving Cardigan Island Coastal Farm Park, Gwbert, Cardigan [ www.cardiganisland.com] conducted by a WAG Planning Inspector , even though the Ramblers are full fiscal partners in the public path.But how were they even permitted to attract EU Objective 1 match-funding for a public path? Would First Minister , Barrister and Ramblers Cymru Vice President, Mr Carwyn Jones, kindly grace us with his professional,expert legal opinion on this shady affair ? Or are the Ramblers and Welsh Ministers above the Law? If he won't say, I am taking this criminal matter to the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, make no mistake !!!! To think that this is the country that once spawned the scrupulously just Laws of my forebear , King Hywel Dda, of Hen Dy Gwyn ar Daf or Whitland, recognised by leading European historians as the fairest Mediaeval Laws in Europe at the time !!
